@CJAubert - Exclusive to the V-12 SA were also more leather in the dash area and the glass panorama roof. This creates a different profile than the standard SL roof that came on the V-8 SA. The roof alone was a $9,000 option on other SLs. Hence the $149k sticker price on this car in 2002. Quite lofty.....
Beautiful car and definitely the Holy Grail of R-129s. A few questions..... - Photo 45 appears to show a scuff on the LF valence -- or a reflection? - Photos 152/153 show the wood as brown, while it's supposed to be black birds eye maple. Has this been changed? - Photo 228 appears the handle is missing on the console tambor door? - Photo 318 shows 35,325 miles in 2012. So this car has only been driven 1500+ miles in the last 12 years? - Have the soft top cylinder hydraulics been updated? - Any PPF on the front end? - Do the trunk air cylinders hold the trunk lid up? Thanks for posting this.... really lovely car.
@Seller, so if you're saying the current odometer was updated to the equivalent mileage when the km odometer was replaced, then you're saying you're planning to sign off the title a "true total miles?"
Are there invoices to support the entries listed on #209-210? This is a handy list, but the actual records would be appreciated. Also, did the PPI / safety inspection include a test of the ABC computer and components? Thanks!
Also, I thought the 4-speed auto trans arrived in 1981. Are you sure this isn't a 3-spd automatic? Steering wheel and shifter appear to be molded plastic and not leather...
Odo shows 61k MILES since the US conversion. Any idea how many kms were on the original Euro odometer when the car was imported? Are you selling as TMU?
